The few ideas you need before you place your first trade.
Buy (long) if you expect the price to rise. Sell (short) if you expect it to fall. Your result is the difference between the price you open and the price you close at.
The small gap between the buy and the sell price. It is the main cost of a trade, and it varies by instrument.
Leverage lets you control a larger position than your balance alone. Margin is the part of your balance set aside to hold the position. More leverage means bigger gains and bigger losses.
A stop loss closes a trade automatically at a price you choose, to cap the loss. A take profit closes it at a target price to lock in gains.
Every plan has a maximum daily loss and a maximum drawdown. Breaking either ends the challenge, so size your trades with the limits in mind.
